The Bucks County Classic celebrates a milestone this year marking 20 years of bicycle racing in Doylestown, Pennsylvania on September 8, 2024. The race began in 2004 as the second day of the Univest Grand Prix taking place alongside the Doylestown Arts Festival. This unique combination of sport and art sets the Bucks County Classic apart from other races.
“I’m proud to have the opportunity to organize this anniversary edition of the Bucks County Classic and showcase Doylestown Borough and its vibrant community.” says Race Director Laura Reppert.
The event draws racers from across the country and thousands of attendees. The 1.4 mile course winds through the Borough of Doylestown’s picturesque neighborhoods and downtown shopping district which provide multiple vantage points for spectating. More than just a race for professionals, the event also offers opportunities for amateur racers, kids and the community to participate. Included for 2024 will be an exposition area with vendors and local businesses at the start finish line and special activities for the anniversary of which more details will follow.
The Bucks County Classic would not be possible without the support of the Borough of Doylestown and sponsors. Sponsors for this year’s event include the Thompson Organization, Doylestown Health, Eastburn & Gray P.C., SingleCare, Bucks County Tourism Grant, Doylestown Health Foundation, Marshall Financial Group, Hepatitis B Foundation, Baruch S Blumberg Institute and the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center.
